Signal-based outbound agency (2026)
Updated October 11, 2026. Vendor sites read October 11, 2026.
Sales.co's GTM engineering page lists eight buying signals: website visitors, new hires and job changes, funding rounds, hiring posts, post engagers, competitor followers, product launches, tech stack. We checked ten GTM engineering agencies' sites for the same eight on October 11, 2026. One names all eight (Understory), five name five or more, and one names none.
Sales.co publishes this page, so read it with that in mind. The eight signal types are the ones on Sales.co's own page, so Sales.co scores eight by construction; the count says how each agency's wording overlaps with that list and nothing about quality. The ten are the agencies named most often in the list pages that rank on Google for GTM engineering agency queries (how they were chosen). They sell GTM engineering, and this is not a survey of every outbound agency.

Funding rounds, job changes and website visitors are the common ones, each named by seven of the ten. Only Understory names competitor followers; its home page lists "Follows Competitor". Product launches are named by Understory and DevCommX.
Signals other agencies name that Sales.co's page does not
- Understory: events, ad engagers, 10-K reports, call recording intel, and podcast and press mentions.
- The GTM Engineering Company: GitHub activity, ad libraries, review text and product usage. Its sales page says it sources "signals your competitors cannot buy off the shelf".
- RevPartners: review sites such as TrustRadius, new office locations and company news, tracked in Clay and written to HubSpot.
- DevCommX: geographic expansion, intent data and content downloads.
If one of those is the event that predicts a purchase in your market, that agency is the better pick on signals, and you should ask Sales.co whether it can add the signal before you compare prices.
What happens after the signal
A signal puts an account on the list. At Sales.co the list then splits: the whole market gets email, and the highest-intent accounts also get cold calls, ads and LinkedIn messages from the same team, with replies answered in under 10 minutes. Which channels each of the ten agencies runs is on the channel table, and how each picks accounts is on the account-selection table.
Sales.co's GTM engineering package is $5,500 a month, flat, with no setup fees, and it is month-to-month.
How this was made
We searched the saved HTML of each agency's home, service and FAQ pages, read on October 11, 2026, for each of the eight signal types and for the words signal, trigger and intent, then read every match in context. Blog posts and tool reviews on agency sites were left out. The wording in the table is the agency's own, shortened. If a site names a signal on a page we did not read, it is missing here. Report a change: contact.

FAQ
What is a signal-based outbound agency?
An agency that decides whom to contact, and when, from events at the account: a funding round, a new hire, a visit to the website. Sales.co's page describes it as buying signals feeding one account list that one team works across email, cold calls, ads and LinkedIn.
Which signals do agencies use most?
Of the ten agency sites we read on October 11, 2026, 7 name website visitors, 7 name new hires and job changes and 7 name funding rounds. One names competitor followers and two name product launches.
Which agency names the most signals?
Understory. Its pages name all eight of the signal types Sales.co lists and add events, ad engagers, 10-K reports, call recording intel, and podcast and press mentions. Sales.co publishes this page, so read it with that in mind.
Does naming a signal mean the agency uses it for every client?
No. This page records what each site names. It does not show which signals a given client's campaigns run on, how fresh the data is, or what happens after a signal fires. Ask for the list of signals in your own proposal.
