Month-to-month GTM engineering agency, no contract (2026)
Updated October 11, 2026. Terms read October 11, 2026.
Of ten GTM engineering agencies whose sites we read on October 11, 2026, one describes its term as monthly (The GTM Engineering Company), three state a first term of three to six months (ColdIQ, Understory and RevPartners), and six do not state a term for their outbound or GTM engineering service. Sales.co is month-to-month with no contract and no setup fees, at $5,500 a month.
Sales.co publishes this page, so read it with that in mind. The ten are the agencies named most often in the list pages that rank on Google for GTM engineering agency queries (how they were chosen). The second column quotes or paraphrases each agency's own site. The third is what a new client is committed to pay at signing, where the site gives enough to work it out.
| Agency | Term its site states | Committed at signing | Setup fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sales.co | Month-to-month, cancel anytime. Its FAQ answers "Is there a contract?" with "No." | $5,500, one month | None |
| ColdIQ | Initial 90-day term | 3 months at a price from a proposal, plus third-party software | Not stated |
| Understory | Six-month minimum for most engagements, four months for smaller or earlier-stage companies | 6 months of retainers at a price from a call (4 for smaller or earlier-stage companies) | Not stated |
| RevPartners | 6-month initial term on its pricing-page retainer tiers; not stated for the Clay services | $64,100 on the lowest retainer tier: 6 x $9,850 plus a $5,000 onboarding fee. The fixed-price Clay builds are $25,000 | $5,000 one-time (retainer tiers) |
| The GTM Engineering Company | Monthly; a typical engagement is a 3 to 6 month retainer at roughly 5 to 10 hours a week | $5,000, one month of the Starter tier | Not stated |
| SalesCaptain | Not stated | Unknown: no term or no price on the pages read | Not stated |
| Growth Engine X | Not stated | Unknown: no term or no price on the pages read | Not stated |
| DevCommX | Not stated | Unknown: no term or no price on the pages read | Not stated |
| demandDrive | Not stated | Unknown: no term or no price on the pages read | Not stated |
| The Kiln | Not stated | Unknown: no term or no price on the pages read | Not stated |
| Earleads | Earleads' home page describes its engagement as "A paid audit, first", then "A 60 day sprint", then "Six months, renewable". That is for AI search visibility work. | Unknown: no term or no price on the pages read | Not stated |
"Not stated" means the pages we read do not say. It does not mean there is no contract; ask for the term in writing.
The three stated first terms
- ColdIQ, 90 days. Its managed-service page says the initial 90-day term, the payment schedule and what happens after day 90 are agreed before work begins. Taking the system in-house is one of the options at the day-90 review.
- Understory, six months (four for smaller or earlier-stage companies). Its FAQ says month one is almost entirely setup and that real sending and measurable pipeline start in month two. "After the initial term, we discuss renewal."
- RevPartners, six months on its retainer tiers. The pricing page lists tiers from $9,850 to $27,000 a month, each with a 6-month initial term and a $5,000 one-time onboarding fee. Its Clay services have their own lengths: 60 or 90 days at a fixed $25,000.
Monthly, with a typical length
The GTM Engineering Company prices by the month, from $5,000, and its services page describes a typical engagement as a 3 to 6 month retainer at roughly 5 to 10 hours a week. That is a description of how long clients stay; the pages we read do not state a minimum or a notice period. It builds a system and hands it over. If a build with no fixed term is what you want, it is a closer match than Sales.co, which runs outreach every month.
How long before anything is sent
Several sites say how long setup takes, which is worth setting against the term. Understory says cold email takes three to four weeks to launch. Growth Engine X puts onboarding and inbox warm-up in weeks 1 and 2 and first campaigns in weeks 3 and 4, and offers companies that qualify a free test campaign before they pay. ColdIQ says the first play is live within two weeks of kickoff. demandDrive says its SDR programs typically launch outreach in 2 to 3 weeks. Sales.co's GTM engineering page gives no launch time, so ask.
Sales.co's term
Sales.co's GTM engineering package is $5,500 a month, flat, with no setup fees, and it is month-to-month. The page's FAQ says: "Is there a contract? No. It is month-to-month and you can cancel anytime." The page does not state a notice period.
Questions to ask about any term
- Is there a notice period, and does the month you cancel in get billed?
- What happens after the first term: month-to-month, or a new fixed term?
- Is there a setup or onboarding fee, and is it refundable?
- If you leave, do you keep the domains, mailboxes, lists and Clay tables?

FAQ
Which GTM engineering agencies are month-to-month?
Sales.co states it: month-to-month, cancel anytime, no contract. The GTM Engineering Company describes its engagements as monthly, with a typical length of 3 to 6 months. The other nine of the ten we read on October 11, 2026 either state a first term of three to six months or state nothing. Sales.co publishes this page, so read it with that in mind.
Which agencies state a minimum term?
ColdIQ: 90-day initial term. Understory: 6-month minimum (4 for smaller companies). RevPartners: 6-month initial term (retainer tiers). Earleads, which sells AI search visibility, describes a 60-day sprint followed by six months, renewable.
How much money does a minimum term commit?
Only RevPartners publishes both numbers: its lowest retainer tier is $9,850 a month for a 6-month initial term plus a $5,000 onboarding fee, $64,100 in all. ColdIQ and Understory state a term and no price. One month of Sales.co is $5,500.
Why do agencies ask for a minimum term?
Understory's site gives its reason: month one is almost entirely setup (domain warming, CRM integration, creative, lists, copy), real sending starts in month two, and it wants a quarter of data to assess fit.
